I received my bachelors degree from Utah State University in elementary education, a nationally ranked education program. As part of my degree, I spent countless hours in the schools, shadowing teachers, and working with children of all ages. I also spent several months student teaching. Shortly after my graduation, my husband and I moved to Las Vegas where he attended Law School, and I taught in the Las Vegas school district for 2 years. During my time there, I received additional training through the school district, and I implemented several different teaching strategies into my classroom to meet the needs of each individual student, including many ESL (English as a second Language) students. I learned a great deal about children and teaching, and I value that very challenging and enjoyable time in my life.
I took some time away from teaching to be a full time mom, but I have decided to open a preschool in my home so that I can continue to teach, but also stay at home with my 3 year old son and baby girl.
